Shiva is Hindu Deity and “The Transformer” and or “The Destroyer” in among the Trimurti, within Shivism he considered as the god of supreme. He is one of the 3 most influence denominations in Hindu (Hinduism). He usually or mainly worshipped in aniconic form of lingam. He lives on Kailash as an ascetic life, he is also described as an omniscient yogi. He lives in Kailash with his family householders wife Parvati Devi, elder son Lord Kartikeya, younger son Lord Ganesha and only daughter Ashoka Sundari. He always carry the weapon “Trishula”. He is also known as the god of Yogis, Celibate & Self-Controlled.
The Brahma is the the Creator, The Vishnu is the the Preserver and Shiva is the Destroyer. The Shiva took the responsible for the change in form of death, destruction, destroying the ego in the positive sense, shed the old habits etc.
The Mantra of Lord Shiva is “Om Namah Shivaaya”. The Mantra is a “Five Syllable Mantra” and also called “Panchakshara Mantra”. This Mantra is very Powerful. If someone chant this mantra continously maximum time in and by heart, then will get the tremendous power and it has been said that you will get the Meditation power without meditating or practice of Yoga. There is a no particular place and auspicious time to chant the mantra. No need for any ceremonies or rituals for this mantra. The Mantra is free to all restrictions. Anyone can chant like old to young, poor to rich, each and every person in the universal to chant the Mantra “Om Namah Shivaaya”.

Choose the Peaceful place and sit comfortable position. Firstly start chanting the mantra in the mind by sitting calm for 2 to 3 minutes and start slowing chanting outside (loudly) and speedly slowly Om Namah Shivaaya, Om Namah Shivaya, Om Namah Shivay … go one as long as possible and they slowly decrease the pace of chanting and then maintain it for 1 to 2 minutes in mind slowly, slowly and shop. Remember while chanting if you unable or feel difficulty from disturbing thoughts… try to visualize the detail picture of lord shiva.
Maha Shivaratri:
On 13th Night or 14th day of New Moon in Krishna Paksha will be celebrated “Maha Shivratri”. The Shivratri festival come in the month of Maagha or Phalguna as per the Hindu Calendar. It is the Famous and Important Festival for all the devotees. This Festival “Maha Shivaratri” marks as the night when Shiv Perform “Tandava”. This Day All the Devotees will keep a fast for the day and offer fruits, bael leaves, flowers etc to the shiv linga and for entire night stay awake and spend the time in prayers for lord shiv.
